I can't believe how quickly these flower heads have appeared! It's only about a month ago that I put the pseudobulbs in......

Supposed to be hardy if it's very mild I believe. I was inspired by Bampy to give them a go, and have been rather gobsmacked by the speed with which they have developed!

They lived outside with me for years. I had them in big tubs. They formed large clumps.

Interesting, although at three quid a bulb I don't feel inclined to try given our last couple of winters!!!

Probably it wouldn't survive the last few. I had them for about 25 years and always outside. But our winters are generally mild here

£3 per bulb !! lol I bought mine for a few pence in Woollies lol I can remember it !

Ah, the days of Woollies!
I can remember mild winters too. I had Daffs in bloom on New years day once!

I hope we'll get back to that weather. I get so depressed in cold temps, even if it's sunny. It kills my plants too :(
I preffer mild rain lol

Agreed! Better still, hot rain!

I think I could live in the rain forests :o) Think of those plants aswell !

Me too Hywel.
I did spend three months out in the far east during the monsoon in my carefree younger days - it's something to behold! It rained for two hours when I was in Penang and it was under a foot of water!

That must have been a wonderful experience.

It was!!
Good job that the subject came up too - it reminded me that I had a mango in the airing cupboard!
4 Mar, 2011
You'd better go and see if it's all right then !

Half eaten now!

I thought you meant you'd planted the stone and put it there to grow lol
4 Mar, 2011
No - even the reduced mango's are so under-ripe that they need a few days in the airing cupboard!

I hope you enjoyed it. I've only tried once and couldn't cut through it, so I threw it away lol

It's a messy job Hywel!!!
Best enjoyed fresh, but as that is not possible in the UK, I save them up to the point of going over.
