View of the daylily field

View of the daylily field (Hemerocallis)

Just a few of the plants in our daylily display field. This is a very open site where they perform really well, lots of light. Also quite cold in the winter which means they get trialled the hard way!

They'll certainly have been trialled this winter, was quite worried about mine, like to mulch the newer ones but this year the snow came so suddenly didn't it, so didn't have time, poor things were buried under 2ft of snow for over a month here, but all look fine just a bit worried about Peacock Maiden and Patchwork Puzzle which weren't new just a couple of tiny leaves on both that look a bit yellow, hope they recover, weather was pretty extreme so suppose 2 isn't bad considering all the plants and shrubs I have lost.
Stunning picture:-)

Can you please tell me the name of the very tall hemerocallis at the back, it looks lovely and very tall too!

Hi there

I'm not sure which view you are looking at. The tall pale one is Shoo Fly Pie, a reasonably new Dan Bachmann plant.

The tall pinkish one is the very old and beautiful Pink Charm.

Thank you for loving them. Simbad is doing a great job of spreading the news. Dancing Crab is one of my real favourites.

Thanks Polliesdaylilies, I'm looking at the view above at the very tall plant at the back next to the fence. The dark coloured one to the left of the picure is nice too! Thats the name I'm looking for 'Dancing Crab' I knew the crab bit, but not the full title! It's really gorgeous!

Simbad is doing a good job spreading the word. Thanks Simbad!
