Hi Sandras and Paul...No...this is a sales department picture. Alas...take a look at the latest pic I've posted...it looks very white, because we received a foot of snow on March 6th! Lucky for me we have a neighbour who does snowremoval...has a huge loader that requires no time at all to clean out the whole drive so that the delivery van can deliver my greenhouse. If it ever gets here! Seemed like the weather was conspiring against me...

We were minus 2 last night and it will be worse tonight after a lovely cloudless day. Our spring didnt spring on 1 March!!
What I wouldnt give for a greenhouse like this (and the garden to go with it!)

According to one of the almanacs, (and my lovely cousin), we are supposed to have a long cold spring. (Our spring is supposed to arrive on the 21st...the equinox. ) (anything cold always seems longer)...brrr... it's down in the serious negatories outside. And still no greenhouse.

Lori:
That's going to be one beautiful greenhouse. I wish I could get one. :>)

Would you use it purely for propagation, D1? It must be a challenge to keep a greenhouse cool in your hottest times? LOL...the exact reverse of what I'm most concerned with...keeping it warm! ;-)

Lori:
Yes, it would be mostly used to propagate seeds.
A greenhouse like this one would have be frosted with shade cloth. My small pop up greenhouse easily gets up to 100ºF/38ºC on a typical summer day...and when it gets hot the temp can easily rise to more than 120ºF/49ºC. (even with the doors open).

Whew...that's oven temperature! Would it not be useful for propagating tropical veg and fruit? Would demand a lot of water perhaps? How's the desalination plant coming along? Is it on line yet? With all the snow on the mountains things could become humid?? I know I'm probably showing my ignorance here...but I've never experienced a tropical climate. or even sub-tropical for that matter! :-0 !
