Amphitecna apiculata

This tree is so rare in cultivation, there's hardly anything written about it. The limited information says it's native to the ultra-tropical rainforest of south Mexico, bordering Guatemala. Some of the experts (who know about this tree) are amazed it's actually thriving at the San Diego Botanical Gardens. Photo taken March 1, 2011.

Marguerite:
It's native to tropical rainforest of Tambico, Mexico and south to the Guatemalan border. This tree is maybe a little taller than 4m tall, however, I have a feeling it may grow taller. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of info on this tree yet.
