Possibly a Northern Flicker, from the woodpecker family.

I'm not positive...but this bird reminded me of a woodpecker... Saw something very similar in my bird book, called a Northern Flicker and it is in the woodpecker family.

Is'nt that pretty, not a UK bird, can't help with any ID.
It's got great spots, maybe it's a 'greater spotted red head!'
