Hi Andy. Yes it's been a long hard slog ... hubbie has worked so very hard over the weeks chopping back and clearing out. It was hard and heavy work so I was unable to help with all that much, but pitched in where possible. We've been hampered a bit by the rain too ... sometimes it was just too heavy to be out in. But all done now, and recovery has started. The 'wet' will officially be over and done with for another year at the end of this month ... good riddance I say!

Oh thanks Clarice. This is one spot at my place that doesn't look too bad, but it's still not quite as lovely as it usually is this time of year.

I hope you receive a real "dry season" this year! Then, you'll be able to get all the work done in the yard (and get to enjoy it).

I can't imagine how difficult it is to clean up after such a strong cyclone. I'm sure it's horrible back-breaking work, though. :>(

Andy ... I'm rather looking forward to some dry weather for a change!

Oldgunner, no we were quite lucky here in north Qld. We did get localised flooding in some spots around our city during our 'wet' season, but nothing terribly bad and certainly nothing like the southerners experienced.

Marguerite ... there are stepping stones and a little path that goes off around the back of that old gum tree, but the bit you're talking about is probably that section that dips towards the shrubs. That is actually a section of cement to drain away rainwater off the courtyard into the raised bed at the back.
