I'm loving this creamy variety. There's loads of the red type ... it's a very, very common sight in gardens here and it can become a bit of a weed as it does take over. I wouldn't mind if this creamy one takes over a few of the rather bare garden beds left behind by the cyclone though.

Its such a shame all your hard work and along comes a cyclone and distroys a lot of it, well look on the bright side you can always replace with new ones you like that might with stand the cyclone.
lol I love what your Lady Priminister has said she is being sent around the internet as Queen of the World for speaking out and having more back bone than any other pm or ruler, pitty there was nt more like her in the world standing up for her own people and country.

Over here Julia is not so very popular ... mostly because of the way she got to become our Prime Minister. The previous very popular PM was ousted by his party and Julia had a big hand in those dealings as she was the Deputy PM at the time.
I'm not sure she'll every really be forgiven for that ... but give her her due, she has worked hard at being a good PM for our country and she's the first woman in the top job. If only she didn't have such a horrible Aussie drawl to her voice! Lol, she really does sound awful when she speaks.

I do know about that she is nt liked, yes the other pm was a nice chap, I have a personal photo of him with a collegue of his which is a friend of mine, she sent me the photo of him and her together in an office, she did nt think much to your new pm either, before she got in. Its a shame how a voice can get up ones nose I know the feeling when I hear some of my neighbours lol, so I just turn the music up haha. At least she is doing good for yous and country thats what counts, no one ever likes a manager do they hehe

So, so true! We'll have to wait and see if she gets voted back in at the end of her term. Our old PM is doing a great job as our Foreign Minister now, so he's still in the game!

That is great he is still in there then at least he can still influence a bit, some times they change puposely as people get tired of seeing the same face then alter their opinion which is a shame the world is so shallow. It is a tactic used if they think they won't get back in.

Yes, spot on. I think the Labour Party thought Kevin was a liability and took him out ... but really that should have been the voters' choice as the country had voted him in, it should really be their right to vote him out. It's a bit of a touchy issue ... when the Party rank and file start making these decisions.

Great close up!

The Russelia should be re-named Resilient, I think. Every clump of the red and this white seemed to shrug off the summer and early autumn conditions as if it was nothing. The white hasn't kept on flourishing and is now as big as all the red clumps.

Bernieh:
You would be surprised to see how well this plant does in areas of San Diego that don't receive any rain or water for 7 or 8 months.

All of mine are growing in spots that receive no water except what falls from the heavens. They obviously don't need much moisture in the soil at all!

It's pretty amazing they can survive such neglect. This plant seems to bloom and grow so well under these harsh conditions.
