Does rhubarb require a particular soil, Olive? and when does it have to be planted? It may be too late for this year? Green as unripened rhubarb, I am! lol

I have no idea which types of soil but mine is clay, think they are selling roots of rhubarb in the g.c. just now, give it a go it takes a couple of years to really get going but eh ho it is worth it.

Whistonlass been to g.c. this morning, spent too much again, but they had rhubarb for sale in little planters so you should be lucky and find some. We are having stewed rhubarb and custard later on in week for pudding. Would have had it tonight but forgot to get the milk when I went shopping (too excited buying plants).

Yes, I just got mine at the GC. Two nice pots of it. Last year I bought roots and they were rubbish...rotted. Mind you, I think I probably planted them too deep. J, its a good plant to grow in shade where most edibles won't be happy.

Thanks for the tip, Karen......I don't get a lot of shade in the garden but I'll see where would be best...and be on the lookout for nice healthy rhubarb plants :
