The wild turkeys walked down the side of the road to our driveway and turned in like they had the address!

The birds are native to the southern part of Ontario and have recently be reintroduced into the wild...they are doing fine and their numbers are increasing. May also be responsible for the increase in the coyote population too.

Yes, Sandra, they certainly are strange in many ways...their call is comical and sometimes eerie...their tails trail out behind them as they walk...but like a peacock, they fan them in mating displays. They can be aggressive too...but only if cornered and they are not the smartest creatures either. The poults are odd looking too... usually the babies of a specie are cute...like baby ducks or chicks...but turkey poults? ..uh uh!
