Thanks HB....Amy it is I love going around the garden to see what has flowered, Mot it is a really cheerful plant, but last year it got eaten to bits by the berberis sawfly, so I am keeping a close eye on it, have never had any problems in the past with berberis.

I love berberis and have three in my back garden. Two of them were eaten to pieces last year and I presumed it was common or garden caterpillars. I have never heard of the berberis sawfly and have just Googled it. Yuk - thanks for enlightening me, DD2, I will watch out for it now :(
