Meanie there are Orchids that do bloom continually so don't worry there, this must be one of them.

Typically, Phalaenopsis is not one that's ever blooming. Epidendrum hybrids are the only ones that I know of that bloom continuously throughout the year (here anyway).

This is certainly my longest blooming orchid 6d!!
Delonix - I have gone the other way with my latest addition. It's a single flower Paphiopedilum, like the one in the link below........

I've seen Paphiopedilum in the Botanical Building in Balboa Park. There's many hundreds of orchids in there...it was originally build for thousands of orchids.
