Forest Natal Mahagany is a beautiful evergreen gigantic tree. This posted tree is still very young. It's looking really lush with all the rain we've had this year. Photo taken at San Diego Zoo on March 26, 2011.

Yes, we've had a tremendous amount of rain this season. There's an unusually cold storm coming down from the Gulf of Alaska tomorrow, which is very rare for this time of year. It's been a very strange La Niña weather year. Typically we receive a lot less rain than normal during La Niña years. On the positive side our long drought is officially over! YAY!!! :>)
In the high Sierra Mountains, some places have more than 55ft/17m of snow! Can you imagine?

Nice tree. Do you know of any in the bay area? Does it also have showy flowers?

It has small flowers and nice colored fruit. I don't know what its cold tolerance is like, though. It'll most likely grow in the Bay Area.
