There are Ladybirds everywhere in the garden.

It's hard to trim anything at the minute without having to get them off first

I wondered if it was because my big fir tree is gone. Perhaps they normally hibernate in that, and had to find somewhere else. Probably not. I really haven't any idea

I don't get many at all... it's probably because I am too tidy.

What are you saying about my garden? Lol.....I think there must be hundreds out there, maybe it's their year. We had a fly year 8 years ago, that was awful

Oh no! you can keep them, I'm smothered in Jungle Formula spray already!

I had to smile at some of your comments the other day, I get eaten alive too and always forget my spray. I react so badly it should put me off the garden forever.

Wot? You mean you and I share this problem also? unbelieveable! Actually, it almost did put me off for a day or two this time. Horrible horrible and really sore. It's fine now though. It's the horses in the field just beside the estate that cause the problem. I'd never had a horsefly bite before we moved here. Just as well I don't ride!

There are horses in the field behind me too. But it seems I react to anything that wants to have a nibble! Been like that for years

Yup, me too. Used to be mostly midges, then strangely, after I got devoured by mosquitos abroad, the midges seemed to go off me. Now it's mostly berry bugs and horse flies! I'm like a piece of rotting meat! ;))

I think I will have fat ankles forever then!

No, not at this time of year Annie. The difference increases as we get nearer to the summer solstice. There will be about an hour difference by midsummer. Last year, on a clear night, there was still light in the sky at midnight, and twighlight about 11pm. By May it will be about 10pm. Same in winter. The darkest days are at the solstice and that is when the difference is at its greatest. It's hard to tell what's happening on really grey days like today though! Right, I'm off to get some cereal and a cup of tea for my tummy. Speak soon xxxx

Much better thanks Annie! Have you seen my tulipa humilis photo...I've just uploaded it. This is the tulip for you! You would get your magenta hit from this one, and it's a species, so no lifting and storing!
