I hope you like this fern since you'll be seeing more photos of it than you ever wanted to. It's my favorite fern - I first saw it in the middle of the woods behind the farm where I worked years ago and have loved it ever since. Last year some sort of bug ate it but I will spray it with pepper spray as a deterrent this year. I've heard it can be an aggressive fern, but it's only this year that it's begun really, really spreading (probably because of our wet winter, it loves water). I'm not complaining.

afraid so - slugs are just emerging now and probably very hungry - maybe some egg shells around them for a while :):):)
