The Pink Ipê tree flowering and loving the 90ºF/32ºC. heat of the last couple of days. This common tree typically blooms from February through May. Photo taken March 31, 2011.

Yes, this tree is quite strong and luckily wind-resistant. It can grow quite quickly, too.

Beautiful! Mine is starting to show lots of lovely re-growth after the thrashing it received from cyclone Yasi, but I'm not sure it will recover enough to be blooming in our winter this year.
