Lovely photo, Holly! Here in H'don there is a row of houses in front of the cemetery (most build well over a century ago) & almost all of them had these plants trained against the house walls - up to about 3m high. I first saw them when we moved up here from London. I'd never seen anything like this where I had lived in London so they were a tremendous surprise to me! :-o Unfortunately only 2 or 3 of the houses still conserve some remnant of these plants.
My daughter "inherited" a tiny plant when she bought her house. She showed me it & as it was being "strangled" by a Ceonothus (sp?) I told her to cut the bigger plant back to make room for the Quince. Now it is much bigger & is starting to "bully" the other! LOL! I think I took a photo of it a couple of weeks ago when I took her brother & his wife to see her & his nephew & niece. I'll upload it later.
