amy this is how it should be planted with thick corm/root showing not burried,i cover with dead leaves in winter to protect it.

its a great plant judy, i got it for the leaves and couldnt believe it come spring when flowers came up ;o))

it flowers first holly then big rhubarb type leaves all summer, the flowers are so pretty first, google it and see holly :o)

did you see the pink flowers holly, its a good plant for spring and summer, likes moist ground and doesnt mind shade either, or in bog garden.

think i have about 5 flowers this year, did have 6 but one is attached to a root iv taken up for someone, but spread well once settled in dont they, have you many flowers helen?

It's about 24in wide San, but I think there's only about 3 or 4 flowers. It's dark outside so I'll check tomorrow, if I remember, that is! LOL!

lol, yes when i looked today i think mine is spreading about 20inches wide now.

I bought one of these last year planted when in leaf, i have two flower spikes growing quite strong now, didnt realise roots show like that but still a young plant

mine didnt show like this at first when a small young plant but the year after,glad yours is doing well Daylily ;o)

iv just posted a pic of them a week on, getting taller, look great when open and then when the flowers die you get huge leaves like rhubarb, great for shady moist areas or pond areas, out of sun ;o)

Mine are open Sanbaz, theyre about 2ft tall, your's will probaly be the same, I think they look very strange!

they do look strange the flowers coming first and are deffernatly taller this year, ideal where i have them as not alot of sun and ground stays moist. its nice to have something a bit unusual :o)
