I like to be able to see through the stems of these so will be cutting all the whispy bits out but want to let it settle in first.

Do you top dress them as on instructions when I got mine it did say prune and mulch top dress.

I give them a feed of 6x and mulch of compost in late spring. The only pruning I do is cutting out the weak small canes and clearing the stems to a decent height.

It'll grow again, 6d - probably not much this year but next it should be fine again. I actually harvest some of the canes from my 'Aurea' to use in the garden.
