Yes, I thought it was a yellow tree lupin. It's lovely! Exactly the shade of yellow I love!

Well - it must be hardy - it came through the winter totally unscathed. I like it too. :-)

That's good news. I have lost two scented honeysuckles. I only realised today. Its very sad. Mint Crisp and Halliana. The Japonica Aureoreticulata, which I thought wouldn't be so tough, has survived and thrived!

yes, exactly. As i said to OH this evening. I shall use this opportunity to plant another Cotoneaster Exburiensis or another Cistus Battandieri, both of which have done brilliantly in spite of being almost defoliated.

Did I tell you that my Cistus x skanbergii is three-quarters dead? I AM going to replace it - it looks awful. :-(

I thought you'd be interested to hear that we have decided to replace that honeysuckle with Elaeagnus Angustifolia. I could only find it on Burncoose, so I ordered the cream Akebia as well as two of the Elaeagnus (another to replace the yellow Elaeagnus I lost) to make the delivery cost worth while! See, I knew I'd have to get it eventually! lol

Meanie - the Cistus looks dreadful! If I cut it back to the green bits, it'll look even worse. I think it's on its way to the compost bin. :-(((

Shame as it is so pretty. Could you cut it back to live growth and dig it out and nurse it for this year? Or get cuttings off the new growth that you have?

Too late - it's out - all of it. There were only two tiny branches with green leaves on them. I've go a Cistus 'Sunset' to plant. :-)

Oh well that's great! Just like me....can't have an untidy plant spoiling the show!

It was right in front of my garden chair so I couldn't bear it any longer. Not a pretty sight. I've planted 'Sunset' now.
