My Abutilon hybrid 'Pink' in the front yard (Abutilon hybrid 'Pink')

This shrub has been blooming since early December...I thought I get a photo before it stops blooming. Photo taken April 9, 2011. P

Thanks! I've been very dissatisfied with this plant...it's only 6ft/2m tall in 6 years. When I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, I used to get my Abutilon cuttings to 6ft/2m in 3 or 5 months.

Sixpence:

Yes, the soil, cooler night temps and more rain was better for Abutilon.

Would this with stand frosts and is it a climber like the one I have

Sixpence:

Do you have an Abutilon? Most Abutilons hybrids will tolerate temps down to 28ºF/-2ºC with little damage.

This hybrid Abutilon is a shrub, although, some are viny shrubs.

You must have the hardy ones. Most of the species which are grown here are native to the Brazilian rainforest. They're mostly Abutilon pictum hybrids...like the one posted above.
