I divided the original plant when it was only 2 years old and in the autumn. The plants struggled for a while but I lost 2 and the remaining is still small.
This March I successfully divided a 4 year old Midnight Rose and both new plants are doing really well. I will stick to dividing them in spring.
Gorgeous...I have a pic of my fav heuchera 'marmalade'...This is its second year and it has come on beautifully in one season....I was a bit apprehensive about dividing it...so i just potted it on...:>)
