Hi Gee, I have been known to be wrong, it is sitting on the pond edge. Is your woodland damp?

We had this in this garden near a tiny pond (when we first moved here) we had to get an axe to it, still comes up even after 11 years, fine in the right setting certainly not one for a small garden though.

Look at my last but one photo please, Dawn, and see if you think it is the same. The woods do flood and have only just firmed up during the last few weeks of sunshine. I have only found it in one place but it certainly isn't beside a pond.

Great photo Gee. Certainly looks the same. In my book it comes under moisture lover rather than pond marginal and will do ok in any location so I bet its the same plant.

I have that one too Dawn, just like DD says it's not one for vatcating it's space readily! I'm going to put some of it at the pond - I also fancy some bulrushes the ones that grow huuuuuuge, I know they can be a nuisance but I'll take the chance, as they they look really good (confined of course) in a pond!

Hi Helenium, now I dont want to be a kiljoy but be careful with bulrushes lol, they've been the bane of my life for many years. Started off with a few self sets that gradually took over, they spread by rhizomes, mine were six feet high and took all my strength to pull them out, in my waders, had to re dig the pond to get rid and kill off re-emergers with acquatic weed killer. Confined fine but they are invasive unless water is quite deep.
