I think that my Strelitzia (Bird of Paradise) may be about to put out a flower! Seven years from seed.
Of course, it may be just a severely deformed leaf.....

the other thing it could be, is that it's dividing itself, they do that on occasions..

the plant, it can when mature self divide it's self and at seven years it's of mature age. but i hope it's a flower for you :-))
