Thank you for English name for taxus. I think in England is still one of the oldest yews in Europe.

I think you may be right Katarina. We have a very big Yew hedge in a town near where I live. It must be 10 metres high!

Lulu, In my books I found, that very old yews are on Hambledon Hills in Dorset, some might have been there since Bronze age. Very old yews are also in Georgia (former Soviet union). But the oldest one in Europe is one "master" which grows in Fortingall (Argyllshire, Scotland). This one is according to dendrologists 5000 yrs old! I would like to give him a hug. Lol.

Wonderful yew. Sadly don't have any because of the horses where we live. Good photo:)
