I can't remember either of these plants names but wow, the colours are special! Centaura?? and.....

The blue is Centaurea montana - Perennial Cornflower and the dark spiky leaves look like poppy? Dont know the flower though.

I thought it might be a Geum but my Geum Borsii has more petals

Yes thanks, the blue one is a Centaura, that does ring a bell now. The orange flower is like a rock plant with grey leaves.....anyone recognise it? I shall have to ask a question with a better photo!

I agree it's a bit poppy like BUT....I went and rooted around the plant and there was the label!

Glad you found a lable I can see it is now lol. But the long dark spiky leaves are not Helianthemum surely?

No, you were on the money with oriental poppy, growing right next to it!I believe in a varied border!!:)
