Is it a self clinging climber? if so Try Eccremocarpus - Chilean glory flower (treated as an annual).

I stand corrected you certainly proved your point Wagger.

I'm convinced too now Wagger (although I wasn't when I first posted).
It can be a problem nowadays keeping up with the hybrids.....

I just want to find out how hardy it is - whether it will survive in my cold garden. The Plant Press calls it 'fully hardy'.

I guess that there is only one way to find out.....

Thanks guys for your comments. It does self cling and with a bit of help climbs quite rapidly. I have also seen a similar tree version with yellow flowers.

I've just bought myself one Pam.
It cost me a fiver out of the bargain section at a local garden centre - reduced as it had just come through the winter outdoors and was looking a little scrappy next to the new stock. Standing about four feet tall it has plenty of fresh growth on it, so looks as if they're pretty hardy.

Me too!
My first reaction was to say Campsis, but I'm sure that that is wrong.
