Indoor cats just love to munch on grassy plants, so I have been growing a special "St. Augustine" sprig in a pot of specially prepared organic potting soil that has characteristics catered to the growing needs of St. Augustine grass. This little plant sits out on my porch in full sun
The base soil is "Rabbit Hill Farms big pot potting soil" which is a wonderful mix of organic amendments that promotes good drainage and water retention for any plant. I have also added a little "worm castings" and
"dry molasses" to the mix to promote biological activity in the soil and the plant is watered regularly with a diluted mix of compost tea, apple cider vinegar, liquified seaweed, and fish emulsion to help "push it along" and promote a better, healthier, better tasting grass for the cats.
Needless to say, whenever this plant is brought indoors for a "cat mowing", my boys just LOVE it! {chuckle}
Now, if they only knew about the "cat-nip" herb that I'
m growing, they would probably go nuts! :-)
