Try placing Cumfry around it seems to work tip off Monty Dom on tv gardening today or small gravel.

Your welcome Constancespry they don't like going on gravel and it tires them out as they have excrete more slime which tires them.

Love Hostas too...I have three my late Mother bought me, if my memory serves...they will be fifteen years old this year...I generally take a photo, so will post it as and when...
As far as slugs and snails are concerned they seem to find a way over other plants, ornaments even climb walls just to drop on your precious Hosta... :o(

yes, that is so true, Crissue! They are obviously taking part in the slug and snail Olympics at the moment, as they appear to have pole vaulted on to my dahlias and had a feast!
