My first thought was 'Mrs Scott-Elliott' but not too sure now ... how unhelpful is that ... lol!

I hope you manage to I.D. it, Tet. : o )

After googling, I think its called Firecracker! But I never bought it!!

Perhaps it's a gift from the birds . . .

At the rate we feed them Shirley I think they owe us a garden full of flowers!!

12 May, 2011

They sure do! Have noticed how the Goldfinches have been eating up the dandelion seeds, bless 'em.

Thats probly why we have to feed em Lou, if my OH spots a dandelion leaf, its up with the root and the leaves go to the guinea pig!

True Tet. Lots of Dandelions on the stud, good for horses!! A few in my lawn also, which I don't mind really. If I am late with the mowing the birds love it!

Didnt know they were good for horses! Must hire one for our three nearest neighbours. They are great folks but they will never take the flower heads of their dandelions..consequently we get all their "clocks" grrrr

I have come to the conclusion that I have to make a feature out of my dandelions! If I can't beat 'em, join them!

Tet, I'm about to post a pic of Aquilegia skinneri 'Tequila Sunrise' which has opened up in my garden today. Looks very similar to yours methinks.

Ive grown some seedlings of that type Shirleyt, (the only ones apart from some Monarda that have germinated!) but they not big enough to put out yet. I will have a look at yours.
Lulu, do not despair alone..I got some horse manure from a friend for my roses ..I have a lovely crop of nettles growing in every pot!!

Horse manure has so many seeds just waiting to germinate doesn't it!!
I planted Monarda last year and boy....it's creeping everywhere!
