I only seem to have this type, and they seem to grow anywhere and everywhere. Are they a relation within the cactus family? I'd quite like to expand with other family members but can't decide quite where yet. It's just one more thought to add to the exceedingly long wish list since inheriting the garden!

Very helpful advice Terratoonie, I shall do just that. Still finding my way around this site too, as well as the garden! ;)

Hi again Maryclairy ...
Lots of useful photos, blogs and information on the GoYpedia pages which you can access through the alphabet lower down on this page ...
I edit some of the categories, e.g. Houseleeks, Aubrieta and Flower Pot People ! :o)

They're related to Jovibarba and Rosularia MaryClairy I have a few different ones in a mound - need very little care - and just be carefull not to water them much - can encourage flowering which means end of life - even though they are supposed to be always alive :D

Thanks again Terratoonie. It's good to know that someone is making an effort to revive classic children's television programmes! ;)
Paul, thanks for the tip. I think I need to do a little research, as I have been watering the whole garden (including the Sempervivums) religiously due to the drought-like weather it's been subjected to - we had our first 'light' shower here today for the first time in about 5 weeks. Most of the garden is bedded with sandy soil which is great for gardening and drainage, but not so good at water retention in hot weather. :(

Yes not much rain - which is no good for my boggy plants - Ligularias and Gunnera - sempervivums okay to very lightly sprinkle , just don't soak them - should be okay though perfect weather for them :):):)
