I found these tables on eBay: the right height, the right size, rated to take 300 kg, £31 each, free delivery and came the next day! (I'll add the link to the seller’s site if anyone’s interested [I’m not on commission, honest!]).
You can see the spirit level, and the bit of wood and hammer that I used to get the bubble in the right place – I hadn’t thought there’d be a problem about levelling them; just sink the legs into the dirt, I thought … yeah, right.
The screen is for privacy – for next door, not for me. Every time I looked at that end of the garden I couldn’t help seeing into theirs, and I felt uncomfortable about it, so I dropped them a note to tell them that I was going to do it and why.
The screen itself is an old project recycled: I’d made a skirt but hadn’t got round to finishing it off, so I cut the seam, threaded string through it and hung it up. It’ll do for now.
