Madawaska River Bridge at Griffith

High water levels obscure the rapids just below the bridge.

Yes...this is cottage country and this river is very fast usually, but water levels are high and you don't see the force with which the water is travelling under the bridge until you are there! besides being a strong current, the water is also VERY cold...on the weekends there are anglers fishing from boats and from the banks of the river. I think they are fishing for trout...but this is the time of year for walleye too. I know there are some huge muskelunge caught around here as well.
