Tropaeolum polyphyllum

AndrewR

By Andrewr

Tropaeolum polyphyllum (Tropaeolum polyphyllum)

This is a trailing perennial, making growth up to three feet long from a long tuber. It has grey-green leaves, needs full sun and a well-drained soil and is none too hardy. I bought it as an established plant in 2005 but on putting it in the garden, it immediately died back and disappeared, only to reappear the following spring. It has been increasing in subsequent years so perhaps I have found the right spot for it after all.
I have also seen it growing quite happily at Blickling Hall in Norfolk

I grow this plant from seeds and only one little seedlig is growing now.
I hope I could see this flowers in my garden in near future.
