ours were growing fantastic then when we got the snow and frost we lost the lot, we love broad beans,

Thanks Karen, I have to have runner beans, they are my favourite veg, but the broad beans are doing well too.

I love broad beans, but aren't they a plaster....getting all those husks off each bean...but I can't stand them with the husks on! My peas are my 'must have' and I do Mange Tout as I hate wasting the pods!

Good idea, I didnt bother with peas this year, you need such a lot to get a decent amount of cookings. I've never tried eating broad beans with the husks on, ugh.

Some people have served them to me in their husks, with cheese sauce on...which hides the taste beautifully!
