Spotted hawkweed

Spotted hawkweed has a rosette of unusual purple and green splodged leaves and these pretty little yellow daisy flowers, and willingly seeds itself. Is it a cultivated plant? Is it a weed? I don't know and I don't care!

I'm glad I'm not the only one! So many people are quick to rip plants out if they spread easily, but I'm aiming to fill my garden to the brim with plants so anything which can help me do that is very welcome!

This is Hieracium-it's cultivated from hawkweed, I should think. However, it grows and spreads like a weed if you don't cut the flower heads off after flowering and before seeding!! It adds a lovely bright colour to the garden, doesn't it--mine started as one plant bought at a garden centre last year, and I din't know how easily it spread, so I didn't dead head it. This year, it's all over the place and has even spread to the road side beyond the garden?!! But do you know, Annie? I don't care either!! Annie (Cumbria)
