About me
Like the rest of you, I love gardening (including weeding!!) but am finding it more achy these days as age is creeping up on me (over 65 now! Help!) I grow veg. and flowers, fruit trees, strawberries, etc. but the garden is mostly for the wildlife. We planted about10 native trees when we first moved here (Barrow-in-Furness) several years ago, and these are now being used as perches and camouflage by the birds. We also have 4 apple trees and 4 pear trees which are smothered in fruit. It helps being retired as all my spare time goes in the garden, and boy! doesn't time fly when you're having fun!!! I'd like to be called Annie, by the way, as Anne Ashby sounds too formal!!
Thanks for all the comments about my 'Nicandra Physaloides!' It's a good thing there are so many clever people out there. If anyone wants the seed--if it produces any, just give a shout. Goodness knows where it came from, but I buy loads of plants from garden centres (I now have no more room i the garden--literally!) so can only assume it came in the soil around one of them---unless a bird on it's holidays in Peru deposited them in a pot in the garden! Boy, it must have tired wings. Bye for now, Annie1(was AnneAshby)
