its just lovely. was it difficult to grow, i put 3 dahlias in for the first time last year, i think they all survived ~ i kept them in the garage ~ over the winter.

I bought three this year, and planted them up in pots in the greenhouse, when I thought all threat of frost was over I planted them out. One didnt come up at all, and I cant understand why as the tuber was nice and firm. I lost all mine from last year, they didnt survive the winter although I mulched them well. Should have taken them up.

perhaps a mouse ate the one that didnt come up? i think the mice used to eat the ones my mum stored. i havent got a proper greenhouse so the garage [with no windows] has to do.

Well I don't think it was a mouse, I dug it out and when I found it was still firm planted it up again and put the pot outside. Think I will go and have another look at it actually, perhaps might divide up the tuber and see if I can shock it into doing something. The garage is probably a good substitute for saving plants over winter.

lets hope that one is a late starter??
