If you are a seed grower,these germinate very easily from fresh seed and don't take as long as some lilies to flower.

The Alstro is lovely too, they look good together

Very pretty, yes Pcw there was someone asking for id on this plant a couple of weeks ago and they'd self seeded in their garden, I grew lilium michauxii last year from seed and that has buds this year!!!!! think every seed germinated ,and they were swapped and had been slightly crushed in the post.

That's so sad. Mind you, I have one that is being decimated by earwigs at the moment.....grrrrr....:(

You will never guess what I have just found in my garden. It looks like a Martagon lily. I did not plant it so it has either come in with something else or a squirrel has planted it. it only has one flower on it and there had been 2. You can see where it has been snapped off. I will try and get a decent photo of it when it is not so sunny. Yipee the sun and a new lily how much better can it get. I was looking on an American site and they say they need lime each year. I wonder if anyone has any info on that.

Now that's interesting. I shall try adding some this year and see if I can get it to multiply! :) thanks SG and congrats. on your 'find'!
