What a pretty garden you have Sandra

That is beautiful Bloomer - a superb job all round - no pun meant there :D !!!

Thank you,Cinders..It is enough at the back,as I have a lot more to look after at the front..but I have to have something to keep me outside.Lol

:o) Paul, ...good one!.It's not as creative as yours,so I had to work with what little space I had..but it suits me fine ,and its easy peasy ! Lol.

I think it looks great - looks very creative to me - in fact given me ideas for winter if our grass goes soggy again to do this

That's what we did Paul..we had an awful lawn there...laid by a so called greenkeeper from a local golf course! Think he thought he was at work, and making a bunker ! It was like field grass too..best thing we ever did,was to get rid of it ...I love having different pots etc,and being able to move them around...which I do a lot..into the sun..and back to a shady bit..keeps me fit .yeh, right ! Lol.

sounds a lot better - I am frustrated now - and so called lawn feed killed it - and I only used half the recommended amount - now ruined grass forever

29 Jun, 2011

Oh dear,Paul..are you sure it isn't just the moss and weeds that are looking black? My front one always looks worse for a while..I think it would recover..but on the other hand,it would be another project for you to tackle !Lol.

it went black but left brown dead grass behind - then had rain and just plain horrid mud - one part in the garden - don't know why - grass doesn't grow well

29 Jun, 2011

Maybe its bad draining in that part..a good spiking and some lawn sand may help ?

29 Jun, 2011

yes - when patched it I did fork it and removes stones - getting too annoying now though lol

I know what you mean..a nice green area does look good.and maybe your mum likes a lawn..you will have to have a think ! :o)

The gravel garden looks lovely and shows all the plants off nicely. Think I might introduce some and get rid of some of my lawn;0)

Perfick!

29 Jun, 2011

Thanks Amy,hopefully yours will be planted in the gravel..:o)
Thank you Carole..your lawn area is lovely, but i bet it is hard work at times..I do like a nice lawn..but it had to go..only problem is now, that Thomas has nowhere to play..not that he would stay on it anyway ! Lol.
Thanks Frybo,glad you like it..:o)

Lovely spot! Much better than a grassy patch.

30 Jun, 2011

Thanks,Bernieh..I totally agree..no weeding and feeding, ,trimming ,etc etc..just have to remember my kneeling pad..it's a bit hard on the old knees...and harder getting up again .! Lol Apart from that, its great :o)

30 Jun, 2011

Lol, yes I know all about the getting back up fiasco! I do really love the planting all around this spot. Such great colour!

30 Jun, 2011

No pain,no gain,as they say,Bernieh ! Lol.I think I have just about got it as I want it now,..but who knows ???.I have to decide where to put a Photinia now,but it will get too big for this part of the garden..I just had to buy it,at £2 !...I am working on it..maybe in the long border across from the front garden..so,that means a bit of rearranging..
which I do a lot .:o)..I get bored sometimes, and need to ring the changes..:o)

30 Jun, 2011

Nothing wrong with change! It keeps you fresh!

10 Jul, 2011

Oh definitely, no more hauling the mower round to the front to mow two silly squares of grass! Seems to be the fashion along our street now ... lots more have said goodbye to their lawns . . . . .
