Who first drew my attention to this poppy and I found just one in my garden. The petals blew away in the gales before I could admire it.

It is my ambition to grow poppies! No luck so far although my neighbour across the road has loads of them, all different shapes and colours. Am I envious? Of course I am :)
Love this colour, Dorjac, was it a present from the birds?

I am quite sure if I tried to grow this poppy deliberately I would not succeed Gee. I think it must have wafted in from Whistonlass's driveway.

I will have to tell Whistonlass to waft more vigorously then :)

I tried growing those big showy oriental ones Gee and they will not behave themselves....a few sulky blooms then collapse in a messy brown heap and never to be seen again. Friends at Melksham have a tiny front garden. Their poppies are magnifico, and come up year after year. I am really envious.

I thought I would take some photos of my neighbours poppies this morning, Dorjac, but they have nearly all gone, blown to pieces by the wind. Such a shame, they were so beautiful. Perhaps some will seed themselves in my garden :)
