These are lovely Drc....how do you get the foliage looking so lush? I have one which doesn't look healthy at all, have tried feeding, a wee bit mulch, watering more and watering less even resorted to the chelsea chop a while back but nothing seems to improve it....any tips :))

I have lots of them and all do well so I think it must be the heavy clay. I have never given then the Chelsea chop, I never let them dry out but treat them no different to the other perennials. I give them blood and fish feeds with a handful of Epsom salts to increase the Magnesium - this I find stops the leaves from yellowing. Last thing - sounds daft but they do like company they seem to take much longer to get going if in a bed on their own.

Thanks for your tips....I think it must be lonely as it was bought just to fill a wee space! Will give it a little boost with the Epsom salts, thanks again Drc

Fingers crossed.

I agree with your 'daft' idea of company keeping. I think this is true but I have no idea why it might be so. Weird!

I certainly think most prefer company. It does not seem to matter if they are different types as long as they are together - if left alone on the road side they cram themselves in with all sorts and grow away very happily.

What else?

See who else is growing Phlox paniculata (Perennial phlox).

See who else has plants in genus Phlox.
