Several pieces collected, these were used to extend the left hand side of the rockery on the little Pond...

All for free Paul...What you must be vigilant about, when collecting these old stumps, are wood wasps...they love to nest...and boy do they attack....
I've got a spray that is safe around birds and fish, and I take the timbers up the garden, and spray all over, that gets rid of all nasties, if any...and it deters Ants from making nests too...then put them in situ...and just use my Garlic spray after if I need to...

Regularly go down to woods to collect - I mean in Garden centres we pay up to £6 a bag of bark! So self collecting is great. My girlfriend is also into all this - so we went down to get all the stuff in woods and as some people came by all they seen was us come out behind some bushes :DDD
We had a few crawlies in the wood - I like to attract woodlice as they compost it - and keep lining new layers :))))
