Our garden

This is the more formal side of our garden ... laid to lawn and trees. Some time in the future I may get around to planting up borders but we have so much to do that it's on the "to do" list :-)

If you have the space, sometimes its just nice to have grass and trees like this, its lovely.

Lovely... lots of space, and privacy...

Thanks ... this side of the garden is pretty amazing but it was unmanaged by the previous owners so we've had to chop down quite a few trees because they were rotting at the base and quite dangerous. The tree in the foreground is a plum tree - again pretty old and unkempt. We're planning to give it a trim later in the year but the fruit it's giving us this year is well beyond expectations.

Shirleytulip has a brilliant recipe for plum cake if you have too many. Don't look at it though as I became addicted last winter and wouldn't want you to suffer the same fate:-) I would love to have the room for large trees like yours, probably wouldn't bother with too many flowers if I had a garden like this:-)

Ah now that's a great idea Bornagain. I'll have a look and take the risk. Last year it was plum jam but fiddly getting the stones out so I'll try something different this year. Thankyooouuu :-) By the way, take a look at my other photo's and you'll see that we also have a "project" garden that we're working on. I'm trying to get a cottage garden going so loooooots to keep me busy.
