Our weather is just plain strange! it blew up and blew over! I'm so glad that it didn't have hail in it...my hostas are a bit perforated from hail we had last week... and the peonies are safe for now...

Love this photo, this happens to be my favorite ! They hold alot of sentimental value for me. Mine were a gift from my mother's yard, and they were given to my mom by her mother. This is the only plant I have that used to belong to my Grandmother Cook.

This is wonderful...all my Mom's lovely garden was bulldozed when they removed the house...land values in Muskoka are absolutely out of the picture these days...and a prepped lot is worth more than an old homestead...sad as it seems.

same here Lori, any bit of land thats left is being built on. when we moved in here there was a farm at the back of the house, its now a housing estate. Not sure if you have heard of Shackleton (artic explorer) his home is nearby and driving passed it last week i saw all the diggers on the land, guess its going to be another housing estate. there will soon be nowhere for wildlife around here, which is sad.

I'm a colonial, Irish...but wanted to ask...Wouldn't the home of Ernest Shackleton be a candidate for gov't preservation...does Ireland have a "national trust"?

we have The Office Of Public Works here Lori that SHOULD preserve old building but its not always the case. Shackleton house is a private estate so i guess they can sell off the land if they want to.,, far as i can see the house will be kept, family still living there.
