Two great assets with this ceanothus - it can be pruned annually to within a bud or two of the previous year's growth and it flowers for a second time in the autumn

DD - I suspect a lot of ceanothus didn't make it after the last two winters. This one seems to have gone from strength to strength - you should have seen the haircut it got this spring but it's bounced back

Have added it to my favourites if it can make it through bad winters and come back looking like that....
