Okay I'm not the worlds greatest gardener. But I understand that this is one of the rarest plants on planet earth.
It can only be found on top of Monti Baldo Lake Garda.
It survived the ice age, well that's what I was told.
I'm afraid I don't know the name. It's very pretty though.

You're in good company Stickitoffee. We went there once - on the way up it got really foggy and when we got to the top we couldn't see a bl***y thing. So I didn't see this either!

It wasn't foggy, quite cold tho! Perhaps I hurried along too much?! Enjoyed a wonderful lasagne at the refuggio tho!

The story goes that the ice age never reached the top of Monti Baldo that's why it survived.
Going again this year.
