Thanks Homebird, once the rose is taller it will look even better (I hope). That Achillea is a smashing colour when the sun is out, at other times it can look a bit wishy washy.
Yes Spritz we did, believe it or not, just out of shot I too have crocosmia, don't have a name for it - just the plain orangy one, inherited in this garden. I also have a couple of difference Hemerocalis that aren't doing too well at the moment - but being new I didnt expect much of a show.
Let me know if you buy the rose :)

i like the helenium, great colour. i would love to grow this in my garden but sometimes the wind is just too strong. I got two hemerocalis this year and only one flower has opened on each so far. must be the bad summer weather.

Sorry, Scottish - I forgot to get back to you about the rose. I did plant one in the area near the Heleniums etc. and it's just the right colour! :-))

Thanks Sconmegamix. I grew these up through supports as I wanted to make sure they didn't topple over the Rose or the Acer. You could try something similar? There are 2 hemerocalis in there somewhere too! Moved one since this picture was taken as it was in wrong spot. The other is just about to flower, but only 1 flower head. Still one is better than none, eh!!
Knew you would Spritz :) My Rose is getting a bit taller now so once these buds open further up it will look much better.
I keep telling myself that Acer has to come out of there as it just doesn't look right.

We did do pretty much the same, didn't we - I've got Crocosmias at the side and back just opening - one is 'Lucifer', the other is C. x masoniorum, plus Dahlia 'David Howard'. No roses, though. :-( Tell you what - that one called 'Hot Chocolate' would look wonderful!! I must think about that....
