Seed Head - Jack-goes-to-bed-at-Noon

That's spooky. I went for a walk with a friend and her dog yesterday afternoon, over the sand dunes at Birkdale. I saw some of these seed-heads and wondered what they were - now I've seen your photo!

Thank you for the information, it is good to keep being educated. I was only saying to OH this morning you are never too old to learn, have been looking up about hoverflies, there are that many in the garden cannot believe how many there are. This internet thingy is brilliant. - I love this plant, think it is my favourite wild flower.
