Renamed ' Purple Gem ' Dahlia ' Blue Boy ' it isn't !!!

I think It's a Cactus Dahlia of some sort, Amy ... another member posted a pic of 'Blue Boy' recently but I don't remember who it was!

Thanks Shirley , as soon as my hubby saw it this morning after I told him about it he said " It's a Cactus " , we are going to the garden centre this afternoon where we think we bought it armed with my photo and the packaging ,we must check first of all that they do sell this brand to be sure ..I'll let you know what happens !

Shirley I've been back to the Garden Centre ! they didn't want to know and said that I would have to deal directly with Taylors which I have done ,I've Emailed them and sent a photo , wouldn't you think that the G.C could have dealt with it to keep a happy customer ...I'll let you know if I have a reply from Taylors I've asked for an Identification of the Dahlia that I have .. ;o)

I posted a picture of Blue Boy, last week, it will be in my pictures if you want to see it. It doesnt really look blue, but more so than yours Amy.

I was surprised they didn't do more to help Shirley , I always thought it was up to the store to make things right and then they sorted it with the company afterwards . I will let you know what the outcome is :o)

I wonder if it will have more of a blue cast as the blossom ages? otherwise...some plantbreeder was very hopeful!

Shirley 'Taylors' haven't bothered to reply yet ! I don't think it will Lori it's very much a cerise colour plus it's a cactus which the Blueboy isn't :o(

Pester them until they're fed up with you, Amy! I wonder if this might be Dahlia cactus Purple Gem ... I have this, or at least one very similar. Google images and see what you think. The mystery deepens ... :o)))

I will have a Google Shirley when I have time ! , I haven't time for anything much at the moment ,we have son and grandchildren here for a holiday next week we have more relatives coming for a few days I shall be ready for my holiday after all this , it's nice to see them but exhausting !!!
