I have been trying to capture this one for the last few days, today I managed it.

glad you like it, it is lovely, been trying for days to get a shot of it with wings open so that you can see the colours, this one is a male, the females do not have the brown patches near the spots.

thanks Michaella, he is rather pretty isn't he! Have been trying to capture a Peacock butterfly, it is huge, not seen one as big as it is, but it refuses to sit still at least long enough or low enough for me to capture on camera. lol. I will get it eventually!!! Perseverance is the name of the game, been making plum jam this morning, just bottled it so not been out in garden yet. Rather a cloudy day here, had a few drops of water (few being the operative word) yesterday. Hope you and yours are all well and enjoying themselves.

you did more than 'manage' it...that's another stunning butterfly shot mum. nominating this for insects...isn't that pretty. First day this year I've seen more than one butterfly in the garden.....a bit warmer at last! Never seen one of these though. I did see a small copper in the spring....lovely little thing.
